The Journey

Now is the end of 2006, it is the holiday season again. Time to think and reflex the thing that has took place this year and time to chart for the future. Frankly speaking for a working class people like us, nothing much that can be plan to enhance your courier. Either you work hard and pray that your boss give you a pay rise or you look for another job. But looking for another job is always uncertainty, might be for the better or for the worst. Ultimately you still need to pray that you get a good boss. Sometime we already get bored with the working life but lack of creativity to start something else.

Somebody ones tell me that there are many time of people in this world. Some will just get a stable job, put in the sufficient effort to sustain the job and the rest of the time go back to spend with the family. There also another group of people who will work their heard out and no matter what it take, they spend all the effort on their job. Alternatively, some people get a stable job and do some part time business, freelance or something like that. I believe this is what most of us trying to do. And most of us still “trying”…

For those who already move out from the working class and start you own business. Well and good, congratulation, you are in the diff chapter now.
For the working class people, what ever stage you are now, as long as you work with the correct attitude, constantly look out for opportunity; believe and have faith that your hard work will be rewarded. You will be there.

Yesterday the internet international gateway was disrupted due to Taiwan Earthquake. All the internet pages hosted oversea is not accessible. Suddenly feel very inconvenient as lot of information on the web is not accessible. Never cross my mind what is the effect in the business world if the internet is disable for few days.

I think after this incident, lot of people will appreciate the internet more. Internet is something that we take for granted. They said kid that is born in the Internet ages (after 1982) won’t know what is life without the Internet and microwave. Most of them never see Typewriter before.

Heem…. But my sister don’t know how to use microwave…

Now is Dec, as usual when it reaches the end of the year I will start to reflex what I have achieve this year. What is the dream and resolutions that I didn’t archive and make a new resolutions for next year. This will make you appreciate what you have and make another plan to move forward. I’m a simple person, don’t have a complicated resolutions.

This year achievements
- Got a kid
- carrier advancement
- Get another property
- Visit Bangkok/Kuching

Thing that didn’t archive yet
- Debt free
- Visit Bali/ Hong Kong/ Australia
- Back to business – still has no idea
- Finish reading the bible (Do you think I still can make it if I study very hard before Christmas?)
- Fitness/mountain climbing – didn’t do very well this year…
- Call my parent/grandparent more often – no excuse, just lazy and absent minded

Not that bad for this year, 40% achievement. Well, as usual will carry forward some of this year resolution to next year.

2007 Resolutions
- Fix the car – condition must be better then this year
- Carrier advancement
- Get another property
- Reduce Debt by 50%
- Holiday (not decided yet)
- Back to business – (still has no idea)
- Finish reading the bible (NT only)
- Fitness/mountain climbing
- Call my parent/grandparent more often
- Get a DSLR Camera

Few more weeks to go….. Estimate another 4 more weeks more before my wife will due for delivery. We estimate that our BB will be born on the week of 38 week as most Malaysia baby do.

Well it has been a long journey. One hand, just can’t wait for the day to arrive as I’m very exited to see the BB and still waiting for the day where my honey don’t need to suffer from all this vomiting and pregnancy discomfort. On the other hand, also understand that my sleepless night is coming soon. I guest this is the journey that most parents go through. Lot of people likes to ask, “So prepared already ah?” I just answer them a smile.

Frankly speaking, we have prepared what we know at this point of time, other then that, I guest we will know it when we walk through it. However, my advice for those who plan to have kids. Don’t take it likely. Don’t under estimate your pregnancy period and your confinement period. If you ask me, the journey of having kids required more preparation then a wedding ceremony. Personally, I think wedding ceremony is easier to manage because you know what to expect and you can get a assign a coordinator or a Projector Manager to help you. While for pregnancy, lot of people didn’t tell you the full picture. Part of it because most people try to be positive and only tell you the goods news, on the other hand, I think they already forgotten the challenges when they saw their cute little baby grow up.

Be prepared, don’t under estimate and treat it with respect.

It is one of the most amazing creations of God.
