Xin Nian lai loh…  when you hear this song playing on the street and major shopping complex you know Chinese new Year is around the conner.

This year going to be the first new year that Zoe celebrate in Kota Bharu. We taking flight back on the 6 Feb. Hopefully it is not too late for reunion dinner. Last year we didn’t when back to Kota Bharu as Zoe was just born and we think she too small to travel at that age.

For this year, I don’t know what to expect.  Pray that I will be able to tone down and enjoy this year Chinese year in a more relax way and don’t stress myself up.

When I was a kid, Chinese new year was a time to be excited. New cloth, New Year, New resolution and the happiest thing among all, there lot of food and “ang pao”. The new year preparation, shopping and the distribution of greeting card was among the top in the list. Years after years, all this slowly tone down. The SMS has replaced the greeting card. Oh yaa.. talk about it, I have not received a single greeting card this year, use to receive lot of it in my previous job.. sob sob..

In the recent year, start to fell a pinch when Chinese New year arrive as it is our turn to give “Ang Pao”, give some money to our parent / Grand parent, some new year cookie, flight ticket to go back home town and all the other expenses. I guessed that is the sign that you have grown up when I start to “drag” you feet when the season is coming. That’s part of life cycle emoticon

Happy Chinese New Year everybody…. 马到功成,年年欢乐 emoticon
